Arathorn was a ranger and the father of Aragorn.
History[]
Arathorn was born to his father Arador during the Third Age and became heir to the throne of Gondor, although Gondor at the time had no king. He was raised as one of the Dúnedain in the north and would eventually marry Gilraen. At some point his father would be killed by a deadly hill-troll. Gilraen would fall pregnant and give birth to Aragorn who would eventually become king of Gondor at the end of the third age. Arathorn slayed the hill-troll that killed his father Arador but would eventually die to another troll who used an arrow to pierce his eye.
