Fíli was the oldest nephew of Thorin Oakenshield and heir to the throne of Erebor after Thorin, as the Dwarf Prince had no sons. Along with his brother Kíli, Fíli accompanies Thorin on his quest to reclaim the halls of Erebor where the dragon Smaug hordes the gold and treasure of their ancestors. Fíli and Kíli were possibly the youngest in the company and had never seen the ancient dwarf kingdom before the quest. They were brave and possibly the best fighters of the company apart from Dwalin and Thorin himself. Fíli was killed by Azog the Defiler on Ravenhill during the Battle of Five Armies.
