The First Age was a time period in Arda that ended with the defeat of Morgoth. It was followed then by the Second Age.

- Attack on Valinor - Morgoth infiltrates Valinor and snuffs out the lights of the two trees of Valinor.[1]
- Elves travel to Middle-earth to fight Morgoth.[1]
- Hunt for Sauron begins - Finrod begins searching for the Dark Lord's lieutenant, Sauron. His sister, Galadriel, is aware of his search and is also wary of Sauron's existence in Middle-earth.[1]
- Sauron finds Finrod and slays him, leaving a branded symbol on his body.[1]
- The High Elves find Finrod's body and Galadriel finds out her brother is dead. The wisest of the Elves can't decipher what the symbol on his body means.[1]
- War of Wrath - Morgoth is defeated by the Valar.
