Gondolin was the city of the High Elves during the First Age. Turgon was the king of Gondolin for some time. The city of Gondolin in Beleriand, in the extreme northwest of Middle-earth, was founded with divine inspiration. It was hidden by mountains and endured for centuries before being betrayed and destroyed. It was the mightiest of the Elven homes in the Hither Lands. The city was famed for its walls
History[]
Gondolin was founded by King Turgon in the First Age. During the end of the First Age, the great city fell and the King of Gondolin perished. His swords, Orcrist, Sting, and Glamdring were lost.
Legacy[]
The swords eventually ending up with the trolls in the Trollshaws before they were founded by the dwarf King Thorin Oakenshield, the wizard Gandalf, and The Hobbit Bilbo Baggins.
