Isildur was the son of King Elendil of Númenor during the Second Age. He took part in the War of the Last Alliance against Sauron. After witnessing the death of his father at the hands of Sauron, Isildur took up his father's sword and defeated Sauron's physical form, taking the One Ring for himself.
