Poppy Proudfellow was a Harfoot hobbit living in the Second Age. She was a friend of Elanor Brandyfoot.
Biography[]
Poppy dwelt in the Vales of Anduin; a member of the tribe led by Sadoc Burrows. She accompanied her friend Elanor to an abandoned farm along with a number of Harfoot-children, where they discovered a grove of wild blackberries. The venture was cut short when Elanor became aware of a foreboding wolf-print left in the mud.
A short time later, Poppy and Elanor witnessed what appeared to be a meteorite fall from the sky, and upon traveling to the site, discovered a mysterious stranger in the crater. Poppy was cautious, and warned her friend from investigating further, though to no avail. Begrudgingly she aided Elanor in transporting the unconscious stranger to shelter, and later to visit him again, when he displayed the ability to seemingly communicate with fireflies.
