Ragash was a Dol Guldur Orc lieutenant in the service of Azog, Sauron's general and vassal, in the late Third Age.
One of his master's most trusted underlings, Ragash fought under Azog ever since the Battle of Azanulbizar and would later join his pack in hunting Thorin Oakenshield's company during the Quest for Erebor. When his Azog was summoned by Sauron, to Dol Guldur, Ragash remained by his side to oversee the growing army and also aided in the capture of Gandalf.
At their Lord's command, Ragash helped Azog lead the legions in a campaign to conquer the northern Middle-earth for Sauron, beginning with Erebor. The lieutenant was slain during the ensuing Battle of the Five Armies, with both the Defiler and the rest of the Dark Lord's forces perishing as well.
History[]
Ragash took part in the battle of Azanulbizar under Azog and survived the battle.
When Sauron returned in Dol Guldur, he called Orcs from Gundabad to the abandoned fortress to help him build an army for war. Ragash was among the Orcs who ventured there and served the dark lord. While his master Azog was hunting Thorin Oakenshield, Ragash stayed in Dol Guldur to help build the army. Azog was called back to Dol Guldur by Sauron shortly before the Battle of Five Armies to finish the army and lead it to take the Lonely Mountain. Ragash was present when Gandalf the Grey infiltrated Dol Guldur and told Azog that the wizard would lift the spell of concealment and find them and Azog agreed. Azog, Ragash and some other Orcs and Wargs attacked Gandalf and Thráin but they escaped only to be stopped by Sauron himself. Ragash followed Azog in the Battle of Five Armies as a lieutenant.
