Rohirrim warriors, footsoldiers or swordsmen were the regular troops of the Rohan military force. Although there were soldiers trained in normal combat, most of the military was made up mainly of cavalry. Farmers and workers were recruited for the battle of Helm's Deep and became Rohan swordsmen.
