Monolith[]
Shadow of War content
The Monolith games, Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War, are confirmed to be non-canonical in the Middle-earth cinematic universe and therefore take place in their own timeline adjacent to the movies. See Canon for more information. |
In Middle-earth: Shadow of War, Sauron's mace was left on the ground near Barad-Dûr and found by a man of Gondor. This man took the mace and was eventually corrupted by Sauron's influence. He would later be known as the Hammer of Sauron and continued to use the mace to inflict the rule of Sauron in Mordor upon the dark lord's return during the Third Age. He used the hammer against the "Gravewalker" Talion during the War for Mordor.
