After his return to Middle-earth in the Third Age, Sauron used a mace, identical or at least similar to his first one. It is possible that the Mace is not a real weapon but rather an extension of his magical powers.

Behind the Scenes[]
A scene was filmed for The Return of the King where Aragorn would fight Sauron physically during the Battle of the Black Gate. It was later switched with an Olog-hai but would have included this weapon.
LEGO The Hobbit includes the weapon although in The Desolation of Smaug and The Battle of the Five Armies no mace is visible.
