Celebrimbor used the power of the One Ring to summon an army of Uruks and attack Sauron multiple times in Mordor. Celebrimbor defeated and turned the Uruk warchiefs and confronted Sauron at Udûn. He put up a fight against the dark lord but before he could deal the killing blow, the ring betrayed him and fell from his finger to Sauron's. Sauron then defeated Celebrimbor and captured him, forcing him to watch the death of his wife and daughter before killing him. Celebrimbor lived on in wraith form, having been "banished from death".
