Valinor was a continent of Arda, located across the sea, west of Middle-earth. It was also known as the Undying Lands and was the realm of the Valar. The High Elves migrated there, and it became their homeland until many of them returned to Middle Earth to fight the Dark Lord. Across the years beginning in the middle of the Second Age, Elves started leaving by ship back to Valinor, the last ones leaving at the beginning of the Fourth Age.
